Sodium Ferrocyanide is the sodium salt of the coordination and an inorganic compound. In its hydrous form, Sodium Ferrocyanide is sometimes known as prussiate (cyanide) of soda. It is a yellow crystalline salt of sodium that is soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol. The yellow color is due to the ferrocyanide anion. Incompetent of the presence of the cyanide ligands, sodium ferrocyanide has low toxicity. The ferrocyanides have lower toxicity. Like all ferrocyanide salt solutions, direct contact with an acid may result in the production of toxic cyanide gases.
